STRATEGIC PLANNING, GOAL SETTING + REVIEWING BUSINESS PERFORMANCE

Avani is a business executive with over 15+ years of experience in consulting, financial services and most recently online education. She has a passion for helping businesses position themselves for growth, think through how to best leverage their strengths and build an organization to succeed. Most recently, through her work with UpThink, Avani helped transform the business from one that was struggling financially to one with tremendous bottom- and top-line growth and more importantly, to one that now celebrates a positive culture and motivated workforce.

After completing her MBA, Avani worked at Bain as a management consultant. Her casework spanned a myriad of industries such as consumer goods, retail, private equity and credit cards. She also worked across functional areas from growth and product line strategy to consumer and competitive insights to due diligence. After Bain, Avani worked at Citigroup as a Product Director on the Citi/AAdvantage portfolio where she was responsible for helping set the overall strategy for the business and ultimately working to ensure the portfolio delivered against its strategic and financial objectives. A core part of her responsibility was developing and executing a customer acquisition, loyalty and retention plan for the portfolio products. At Citi, Avani discovered her growing interest in bringing her consulting skill set to the day-to-day management of businesses. She ultimately left Citi to dedicate her efforts to working with smaller businesses in need of a business minded executive. She now spends most of her time working with small business owners to help them achieve their goals and aspirations. Avani lives in Brooklyn with her two children and husband. In her free time, Avani and her family enjoy outdoor activities of all kinds, cooking together and playing board games. Avani holds an MBA from MIT Sloan and a BS from Columbia University in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research with a minor in Economics.
