WEALF remembers the first women entrepreneur this Women's History Month
As Women’s History month comes to a close, the Women’s Enterprise Action Loan Fund remembers Lydia Pinkham 1819-1883, one of the first women entrepreneurs and creator of Pinkam’s Vegetable compound
As Women’s History month comes to a close, the Women’s Enterprise Action Loan Fund remembers Lydia Pinkham 1819-1883, one of the first women entrepreneurs and creator of Pinkam’s Vegetable compound. It was one of the most popular patented medicines of the 19th century. Like many women entrepreneur’s, Lydia began by giving her home brewed remedy. Her neighbors loved the relief it provided for menstrual cramps, so when Lydia’s family fell on financial hard times she accepted money for her concoction. In 1875 she officially launched her business; a business that is still a success today, almost 150 years later. This month honor Lydia and all women in business by learning more about WEALF; and help our entrepreneurs continue to grow to their businesses. #WomensHistoryMonth #LydiaPinkham #WomenInBusiness #WomenEntrepreneurs #SmallBusiness
